Providing affordable, world-class musical instruction and ground-breaking performance experiences to young artists and to the South Florida region is the marvelous Miami Music Festival’s mission!<\/p>\n

Since its 2014 inception, Miami Music Festival has been proud to establish Miami as a premier destination for elite young classical musicians to train and perform. While the next generation of classical artists come to Miami to receive instruction from an assembly of world-class faculty, the community benefits from accessible public concerts featuring top talent alongside many of classical music\u2019s greatest living performers, playing repertoire rarely heard in South Florida.<\/p>\n

With training institutes in Orchestra, Opera, Piano, and Conducting, the Miami Music Festival development also includes a pre-college program, a pioneering Career Institute and a Professional Division incorporating the Miami Wagner Institute. The Miami Music Festival receives nearly 1,500 international applicants each year.\u00a0 Around 300 are selected through a rigorous audition process. The Miami Music Festival has welcomed students and faculty from over 25 countries and many of the world\u2019s most esteemed music institutions. The festival attracts internationally sought-after performers and teaching-artists eager to identify and cultivate the pre-professional careers of talented young musicians.<\/p>\n

In three short seasons, the festival expanded to eight full weeks of programming, presenting over 70 public events each summer, including five full opera productions, three symphonic concerts, and seven student and faculty recitals.\u00a0 Plus: 20 opera, chamber music, Zarzuela and Musical theater concerts, and 30 masterclasses. Furthermore, the Miami Music Festival is dedicated to engaging local youth and Miami\u2019s underserved neighborhoods using successful outreach, community partnerships and offering accessible events and tickets to them.<\/p>\n

After unprecedented growth in its first three years, the Miami Music Festival continues to expand programming, increase community outreach, and create unique classical opportunities that bring pride to its vibrant and cultured city. She herself hails from Avon, Indiana, where she played trombone and euphonium in the Marching Black and Gold, Wind Ensemble, and various other musical groups throughout her high school career. She credits these activities more than any others for teaching her valuable life lessons in teamwork, discipline, and hard work. Emily went on to Indiana University to get her Bachelor\u2019s degree in International Studies and East Asian Languages and Cultures, with an internship in South Korea that cemented her desire to travel to many distant places and encounter other people and cultures. She has now been to England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland, and South Korea, and hopes to see many more. Emily has experienced firsthand the extreme dedication and hard work that students, staff, and supporters put into their programs each year, the order and organization required to get the band to its shows\\\/concerts with everything they need, and the great satisfaction that comes from a job well done with everyone\u2019s help. That is why she is dedicated to getting her trips on the road with everything they might require to not only help everyone perform their best but also to see new places and have a great time doing She herself hails from Avon, Indiana, where she played trombone and euphonium in the Marching Black and Gold, Wind Ensemble, and various other musical groups throughout her high school career. She credits these activities more than any others for teaching her valuable life lessons in teamwork, discipline, and hard work. Emily went on to Indiana University to get her Bachelor\u2019s degree in International Studies and East Asian Languages and Cultures, with an internship in South Korea that cemented her desire to travel to many distant places and encounter other people and cultures. She has now been to England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland, and South Korea, and hopes to see many more. Emily has experienced firsthand the extreme dedication and hard work that students, staff, and supporters put into their programs each year, the order and organization required to get the band to its shows\/concerts with everything they need, and the great satisfaction that comes from a job well done with everyone\u2019s help.
