Staff Additions, New Positions at MTC

With increased demands for student travel comes a need for additional members on the Music Travel office team. Read below about new positions at MTC.

Heather Davis joined the Music Travel team just after our return to the office.

Heather brings oodles of enthusiasm and wit to her role as MTC’s Workplace Culture Consultant. She comes to MTC from a diverse background in leadership and professional development in the private, non-profit and government sectors. Her love of music performance runs deep – as well it should after spending all 4 years of high school at Warren Central cycling through pep band, marching band, indoor drumline, orchestra, and concert band. After graduation she joined the U.S. Air Force and served for 9 years as an Arabic and French linguist in addition to various leadership roles.

Upon returning to Indy, Heather worked as an executive for Target and program coordinator for United Way before obtaining her Master’s in Art Therapy and becoming a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. Since then she has served as a private practice art therapist, college professor, manager and therapist at a community mental health agency. This unique background allows her to support MTC on all things related to staff work/life balance, culture, training and development, ensuring their ability to provide the best student travel experience!

Conlon Griesmer joined the MTC team a few months ago as Director of Human Resources. Griesmer has always had a deep appreciation for the arts and the powerful things it can do for students. Growing up in Music City, he was constantly surrounded with live music, cultural events and great BBQ! He’s enjoyed watching his hometown flourish over the last decade and has recently gotten into country music to stay connected with his southern roots since moving to Indianapolis in 2017. He attributes his love of travel to his parents who were always brining him and his sister along for business trips and weekend getaways.

Griesmer graduated from the University of Tennessee where he studied Human Resources. He played low brass during his time at Father Ryan HS (TN). Before joining the MTC team, Conlon served as an Events Coordinator at Music for All where he helped produce over 25 annual events. In 2019, he served on the administration team at Bluecoats Indoor, helping to bring the Bluecoats Experience to the Winter Guard International (WGI) stage. In the summer, Conlon travels around the country as a member of the Drum Corps International (DCI) event staff bringing their competitive tour to life.

In his free time, Griesmer loves eating Mexican food with his friends and goes to the movie theater at least once a week to catch the latest blockbuster.

Bethany Barngrover has joined the MTC staff as an Operations Specialist. Bethany’s love for music began at a young age. She is from Brown County, Ind. where she was in show choir for four years. She served as a teaching assistant for Bloomington Expressive Arts Training, a pre-professional local show choir for grades 1-12.

Barngrover graduated from Indiana University with a B.S. in Arts Management and a minor in event planning. She began her career at the IU Auditorium as an Event Coordinator for weddings, shows, banquets and other events at various IU venues. Bethany loves traveling, hiking, camping, animals, Subarus and spending time with family and friends. She is excited to be on the MTC team and play a part of planning life-long memories.

Greg Pearson joins MTC as an Operations Specialist. Pearson was born in Ventura, Calif. and raised in Avon, Ind. He was a member of the Avon HS (IN) drum line and attended Indiana University/Purdue University Indianapolis where he earned a B.S. in Accounting and Finance. After seven years as a server he also worked in health insurance sales and non-profit accounting.

Pearson teaches the drum line at Martinsville HS (IN) and is an avid fan of the Indianapolis Colts, Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Lakers. Besides traveling with his girlfriend Meghan, he likes to play sports and video games. The couple cares for two dogs, a four year old Boxer/Pit Bull mix named Bentley and a five month old Puggle (Pug and Beagle mix) named Otis.

Andrew Rhebergen comes to MTC as an Operations Specialist. Rhebergen currently resides in Indianapolis, and has been a part of the marching arts community for 18 years as a performer, educator, clinician, designer and judge. His performance career began in high school and quickly transitioned to the drum corps level, spending his first year with the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps. Andrew performed with The Cavaliers from 2007-2012, serving two years as Drum Major and was awarded Cavalier of the Year in 2012. Continuing his performance career, Andrew joined, as a founding member, Rhythm X Winds and became a Winter Guard International (WGI) World Champion in 2015.

As an educator, Rhebergen began teaching at Green Thunder Percussion in 2013. During his time at GTP, the group transitioned to WGI World Class, becoming Cavaliers Indoor Percussion, where he continued to teach for the 2016, 2017 and 2018 seasons. He worked on the visual staff for Legends Drum and Bugle Corps in 2016, Santa Clara Vanguard 2017-2020, 2022 and The Cavaliers in 2021. At the high school level, Andrew has worked with Lake Park HS (IL), Lake Central HS (IN) and Marian Catholic HS (IL). He is currently the Visual Caption Head at Fishers HS (IN). In 2019 Andrew travelled to Quetzaltenango, Guatemala to judge Drum Corps Guatemala Championships.

Andrew and his girlfriend Kim have three cats. He enjoys outdoor activities like biking, hiking, kayaking, disc golf and golf and watches F1 each weekend.
