Indiana, Kentucky Groups Prep for International Tour

After a few days of Pre-Tour Camp, two Musicians Abroad groups will leave for 16 days of International performances and sightseeing.

Presented by Music Travel Consultants, Musicians Abroad supports the dreams of both vocal and instrumental musicians in each state across the U.S. Local professors and secondary education music directors come together for a pre-tour workshop. During that time, ensembles receive top-notch instruction while getting to know the other members of the group. At the end of this intensive training, the students, faculty and staff depart on their European performance tour. Both trips include amazing performance opportunities and plenty of time for sightseeing, shopping, soaking up local culture and unbelievable cuisine.

The Indiana tour, coordinated by Chris Taylor, will depart for London on June 11. After a few days in the UK, the group will travel to Paris. Besides a performance and many sights, a day at The Louvre with dinner in Montmartre is on the itinerary. The tour continues into Switzerland, Austria and Germany, ending in Italy.

Dr. Frederick Speck and Dr. Kent E. Hatteberg will lead the group from Kentucky departing on June 30. With over 300 student musicians and 45 staff members, this tour will travel to London, Paris, Interlaken, Strasbourg, Cologne, Utrecht and Amsterdam.

Each Musicians Abroad tour is customized by the state coordinator. Actual length of the tour, countries visited, venues and trip inclusions may be different by state.
