Music for All National Festival

Music for All National Festival

Music for All is known for its outstanding competitive marching band events, under its Bands of America division. This includes the BOA Grand National Championships, when 100 or more of the finest bands from around the country take the field to compete at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis every November. But, did you know that since 1992, Music for All has presented the Music for All National Festival in Indianapolis each March?

The founders of the National Festival dreamed of creating a national showcase of the finest scholastic instrumental music ensembles in the world. Middle and high school concert band members, percussionists, string players, jazz performers, and choir members have the opportunity to perform for and learn from acclaimed evaluators and accomplished conductors. Participating students experience an atmosphere of mutual respect for their peers while enjoying concerts from other outstanding ensembles.

The non-competitive atmosphere provides a place for growth, cooperative encouragement and learning for music programs, students, parents, boosters and administrators. Directors select their own repertoire – nothing is required. There are no ratings or rankings, so directors and their ensembles are free to stretch themselves, reach for new heights, and strive for innovation, growth, and excellence, instead of focusing on a rating or placing.

Music education icons have been part of the Festival since day one and continue to be the unique force behind this powerful experience. Midwest Clinic board member Richard Crain and Mrs. Gayle Crain served for many years as coordinators of the Festival. The Music for All National Festival has an aura of heritage and a unique musical legacy that cannot be duplicated.

As the Official Student Travel Partner of Music for All, Music Travel Consultants is proud to support this outstanding event each year.
