Perform in Disney’s Candlelight ProcessionalVicky Wielosinski
Spreading holiday cheer as honorary cast members in Disney’s Candlelight Processional is a wonderful gift for your choir during the holiday season. Your choir will never forget this magical program that takes place at Epcot© annually. The candlelight processional performance retells the Christmas story with the Voices of Liberty, Disney cast members trying out to be part of the Christmas Tree (in the middle of the choir) and high school, college and adult choirs from around the country, all accompanied by a 50-piece orchestra and a special guest celebrity narrator. Recent narrators have included Laurie Hernandez, Matt Bomer, Ana Gasteyer, Whoopi Goldberg, Pat Sajak, Jodi Benson, Kurt Russell, Warwick Davis, Trace Adkins, Neil Patrick Harris, CCH Pounder, Jaci Velazquez, and Chandra Wilson. These breathtaking choir performance opportunities are the centerpiece of Walt Disney World during the holiday season and tell the story of the birth of Jesus in both music and scripture. The Candlelight Processional is presented at the amphitheater on World Showcase Lagoon, where guests enjoy the air filled with beautiful songs and story-telling.
A little history:
The first Candlelight Processional with Massed Choir was held in Disneyland on December 20, 1958. It was named for an earlier Disneyland production, featuring the choir marching through the park to the stage, holding candles and singing Christmas melodies. In the Walt Disney World version, the chorus enters through the American Pavilion to the stage carrying candles. In 1994, when the show was shifted to Epcot, it was turned into an event like no other. Is your choir ready for the gift and the challenge? The Candlelight Processional starts the day after Thanksgiving and runs through December 30th. There are three shows each day. This performance can be a part of your next trip with Music Travel Consultants.
