OrlandoFest offers music festivals and workshops providing the highest quality, education-based musical experience for each student and director while reinforcing musical concepts being taught within the classroom. Festivals run from March through early June at performing arts centers in close proximity to Universal Orlando. The festival concludes with a fun and exciting awards ceremony at Universal Islands of Adventure. With this custom workshop, your ensemble will experience a fast-paced, focused rehearsal where they learn to make music together at a new level. The founders of the National Festival dreamed of creating a national showcase of the finest scholastic instrumental music ensembles in the world. Middle and high school concert band members, percussionists, string players, jazz performers, and choir members have the opportunity to perform for and learn from acclaimed evaluators and accomplished conductors. Participating students experience an atmosphere of mutual respect for their peers while enjoying concerts from other outstanding ensembles.

Music in the Parks is one of the best advocacy tools for your music program. Performances are hosted by a local church or school and adjudicated by an independent panel made up of educators and conductors alike. You’ll receive unmatched feedback for your program that can be utilized to further the educational process once you return to the classroom. Groups then get to enjoy a theme park for a day of rides and entertainment. Stay in the park that evening for the awards ceremony as your ensemble is acknowledged and highest achievement awards are presented.

This is an opportunity for your music program to receive year-end assessment and constructive suggestions from an outside panel of experienced instrumental and choral educators. These master teachers evaluate hundreds of ensembles throughout the spring, giving them a unique perspective. Whether presenting a new concept or reinforcing the basics you instruct every day, this feedback can have an impact on the musical growth of your students.

Groups can attend Carnegie Hall music workshops throughout the year, with major opportunities including the Summer Music Educators Workshop (late June/early July) and, for youth, intensive programs like The B-Side (February/April). School-year professional training and specialized workshops for educators run from September to June in the Resnick Education Wing.

Field trips to the Museum are traditionally two hours in duration. All gallery tours can be paired with a classroom workshop, specialty program, or theater program. Select programs are also available as virtual and outreach programs.

This prestigious event provides students with the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich heritage of jazz music. Accepted by application only, students perform professionally transcribed and arranged pieces from a vast repertoire of Duke Ellington and other jazz legends. In preparation, students gain a deeper understanding of the complex structures, rhythms and harmonies of jazz.
